Ride On

With her face brushing against the wind she hurries
Along she goes, her long hair blowing gushingly
Onto the sunset she rides with no pause she carries
Her hopes and dreams tagging along freely

She cares not the consequences, but only
That she might reach the far end in haste
Hence she dashes afar with eagerness quickly
And leaving no time at all to waste

Soon she is unseen and leaving all behind
Till she gets to her destination, panting
Looking furtively for what she hopes to find
But it’s not there and on she trots looking

The landscape looks out of sync and strange
It’s nothing she’s ever chanced upon before
Regardless, she knows she can arrange
For hardships she carried, kindness she bore

Nothing appears too far nor out of reach
For she is fearless, confident and strong
Her strides are but mere distance to breach
And she’s looking for a place where she belongs

Her instincts are focussed and truly in tune
She knows she’s seeking the rainbow’s end
There her destiny awaits, time is most opportune
Her resolve is absolute and she’ll not bend

There she would settle and ride no further
Since she has reached her destination’s lure
She will recline her body and soul together
And seek long lasting rest evermore
