Shades of Lake Toba

Indonesia’s largest lake, Lake Toba is located in North Sumatra at an altitude of 900 meters. Formed in the caldera of a supervolcano that last erupted some 75,000 years ago, its length is about 100 km and width of 30 km or an area of 1130 It’s deep at 500 meters and the lake is surrounded by steep coastlines, pine forest and valleys while the island of Samosir in the middle is approximately the size of Singapore.
