Valley of Serenity

I close my eyes and wander into the Valley of Serenity
where cool streams flow with such cascading calmness
With waters so clear that the pebbles glisten with purity
little fishes swim, meandering in stupor and peacefulness

With bliss of eternal peace, knowing no troubles, only glee
in a spectrum of colours so vibrant and yet so refreshing
With beautiful plants and blooming flowers lush and free
painting contours of the horizon enchantingly pleasing

Bearing such tranquillity and composure ever so complete
where the sun basks its ray blessing the land so devotedly
Skies so blue nary a thunderous cloud and bounty replete
where birds glide, bees buzz and nature thrive assuredly

With fields of splendour bearing a kaleidoscope of yield
and trees so invigoratingly crisp, fresh and undisturbed
There I shall lay my humble head and upon such zeal
to be one with the pristine and be totally unperturbed

For life is bountiful but only man’s folly render spoils
and man’s greed and disregard ever more foreboding
The legacy we inherited was immaculate but uncoiled
transforming the sanctity of creation into slow eroding

Yet deep in my imagination such dreams still thrive
for only in my mind lies a place of such seclusion
And my soul hankers hauntingly calling out onto life
to retreat to such a place of sanity and absolution.
